JON RANDALL – Grammy winner, hit songwriter, artist and producer – tTP Episode #144

Welcome to episode #144 of The Troubadour!

On today’s episode we get to visit with an extremely successful songwriter, producer and guitarist.

Jon Randall made his way to Nashville from Texas over 3 decades ago and now 15 years after his last solo release he’s just released a new self-titled project that I think is simply one of the best records I’ve heard all year.

Jon recently got some well-deserved recognition through teaming up with Jack Ingram and Miranda Lambert on the hugely successful “Marfa Tapes” project, but this is really just another validation of the artist, producer and songwriter that he is.

Prior to the success of the “Marfa Tapes”, Jon achieved acclaim as a producer in working with some of the biggest names in country music including Dierks Bentley, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Dwight Yoakam, Jack Ingram, Pat Green and others.

As a songwriter, he was also celebrated as co-writer of the 2005 CMA Song of the Year for a little tune he wrote with Bill Anderson named “Whiskey Lullaby”.

He’s won Grammy’s, ACM and CMA awards and wrote with legends like Guy Clark, which that alone, makes me envious.

So, let’s get to it folks!  Here comes episode #144 of The Troubadour featuring the incredibly talented Jon Randall!
